Miami Fashion Week

If there’s one thing that Latinos are known for (besides being the life of the party, making amazing food, and putting familia first), it’s that we’re hardworking. When Latinos have dreams, we go for them. We put in the work and craftsmanship to make our dreams realities.

Take the fashion world, for instance. At the 2019 Miami Fashion Week, sponsored by Lexus, Latinos showed up and showed out. Here’s how these designers and model showed their presence and stunning craftsmanship on the runways.

René Ruiz

This Cuban-born designer emigrated to Miami in his youth. With his designs, Ruiz is able to bring together both vintage craftsmanship and a modern edge of glamour. The influence of Miami is prevalent in his work.

His collection at MIAFW was breezy and shimmery, perfect for Miami summer nights. His color palette of blues, gold, white and accents of silver captures the sexiness of Miami, but also the timeless beauty.
